City Staff Sam Taylor has increasingly undertaken the roles and responsibilities typically assigned to several staff in his years as an employee at City of Ferndale. As a result the city has enjoyed a lesser payroll burden while still seeing those responsibilities still fulfilled. That all came to an end today as Taylor submitted his letter of resignation.
Taylor says he has accepted a position with a city in California but couldn’t be more specific at this time. His last day with the City of Ferndale will be May 20.
Taylor has worn the hats of human resources director, risk manager, public records officer, website manager, special projects manager, communications officer and city clerk. Recently the title of assistant city administrator was added to the pile.
