After 8 years, Rich and Kathy Host are retiring as the managers of The Cedars RV Resort.
Hosts told Discover Ferndale, they committed to running the resort for two years. That was 8 years ago. Before arriving in Ferndale, Hosts had run a campground near Asheville, North Carolina for two years.
“It’s time to retire,” Kathy said. Plans are to relocate near family in Arizona where they have been spending winters for the last few years.
Realizing most of their members are Canadian, they started hosting a Canadian Thanksgiving dinner at The Cedars RV Resort each year. It is now so popular they have to cut off attendance at 100 people.
Hosts last day will be at the end of October. Their replacements are expected to be announced by the first of the year.
