The temperature around Ferndale plummeted about 10° between 1pm and 3pm today as winds shifted from East-Southeast to North-Northeast. Cold air blowing in from the Fraser Valley was responsible for the dramatic afternoon drop in temperature.
About 3:30pm, snowfall sightings were being reported from higher elevations around Ferndale including the Church Road hill area.
While the cold air and the moist air remain over the area, there is a chance of snow. Forecasters are now saying between a tenth- and a quarter-inch of accumulation is possible in Ferndale areas that do see snowfall. Showers are expected to remain through tomorrow morning.
A wind advisory remains in place until noon tomorrow, Friday, with gusts around 50mph possible later tonight.
