Air quality begins to drop in Whatcom County due to wind shift at upper levels

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Air quality is being reported as moderate in many parts of Whatcom County as of 10:40am on Thursday, August 8th.

The air monitoring station reports coincide with previous forecasts of shifts in wind direction, primarily in the upper atmosphere.

National Weather Service forecasters in the Seattle office said this morning, “Areas of lofted smoke and haze are expected into the weekend with mid-level east flow.”
