WSU Whatcom County Extension’s program named Whatcom County Master Gardeners is a group of volunteer public educators who work on a variety of projects throughout the year. The Extension office works with local partners to develop and deliver projects that benefit the community using sound researched-based community horticulture education.
This year’s workshops are scheduled to be held at Hovander Homestead Park and Tennant Lake Park’s Interpretive Center. They are (click each for date, time and more information):
- Intro to Gardening in Whatcom County
- Soils that Grow Your Food Workshop
- The Basics of Vegetable and Plant Diseases
- Cool Weather Crops for the Home Gardener
- Weeds in the Garden
- Worm Bins and Home Composting
In addition to the above educational events, Whatcom County Master Gardeners also hosts an Annual Plant Sale one day at Hovander Homestead Park (click the link for date, time and more information).
The Master Gardener Program operates in more than half Washington State’s Counties and in nearly all of the United States.
