This Saturday, April 20th, is the date for this year’s annual Ferndale Citywide Clean Up Day. If you have been putting off cleaning out your backyard, garage or overflowing storage unit, this will be the day to do it.

Disposal of metals, electronics, yard debris and large items such as sofas will be available for free. In addition, A paper shredding service will be available for free disposal of personal papers and confidential documents. Bring your items and documents to be disposed of to the parking lot behind Ferndale City Hall, located at 2095 Main Street, between 9am and 1pm.

Ferndale Downtown Association and the City of Ferndale co-host this annual event that also includes volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers help with litter pickup, weeding and other tasks in areas in public right of ways in the downtown area. If you or your group or business wants to volunteer, meet up at City Hall at 9am for assignments. Volunteers are advised to wear clothes they are comfortable getting dirty. Coffee, pastries and hot dogs will be available to volunteers when done.

With Ferndale growing so quickly, will more merchants and nice restaurants be coming soon? And how about a Safeway Grocery Store?

Agreed, we need a Safeway grocery store. Haggen prices are awful.

Too bad they closed the event at 11am… Had the truck loaded with things and had to go tho the dump because they could not take any more… Poor planning!

Safeway, Haggens, Albertsons – same company.
In fact, Haggens just adopted Safeway’s pricing and inventory software.
