WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Officials with the Washington State Department of Transportation announced the following road projects scheduled for this week that can be expected to impact motorists.
Monday, May 1
From 8am to 3pm in the northbound lanes of I-5, near the crossing of H Street in Blaine, the right lane will be closed for hazardous tree removal.
Monday, May 1 thru Thursday, May 4
From 7pm on Monday, May 1st, to 6am on Tuesday, May 2nd, and again from 7pm on Wednesday, May 3rd to 6am on Thursday, May 4th in the southbound lanes of I-5 between just north of Nulle Road and south of the Bow Hill rest area, the left lane will be closed for construction.
Monday, May 1 thru Friday, May 5
From 7pm on Tuesday, May 2nd, to 6am on Wednesday, May 3rd, and again from 7pm on Thursday, May 4th, to 6am on Friday, May 5th, the southbound lanes of I-5 between south of the Bow Hill rest area and just north of the Old Fairhaven Parkway (SR11) interchange will be closed for construction.
Editor’s note: while not stated as such and WSDOT officials were unavailable to immediately clarify, presumedly only 1 southbound lane will be closed.
Monday, May 1 thru Friday, May 5
From 9pm on to 5am nightly, on Mount Baker Highway (SR542), east of Britton Road, flaggers will alternate east and westbound traffic through a single lane for utility work.
Tuesday, May 2
From 8am to 3pm on Kendall Road (SR547) in Kendall between just west of Mount Baker Highway (SR542) to north of Peaceful Valley Drive, flaggers will alternate traffic between a single lane for road maintenance.
