Not-so Frozen Turkeys Found in Dog Park

A visitor to the Hovander Homestead off-leash dog park made a nasty discovery this morning.

Ferndale Police responded to a call about frozen turkeys having been discovered in the dog park by the boat launch. A park visitor’s dog had actually made the discovery and even began to indulge in one of the carcasses.

Two carcasses total were found in the area, both wrapped in torn plastic packaging and showing signs of having been exposed to the elements for some time. The remnants were retrieved and disposed of.

The citizen was concerned this could be an effort to poison dogs and was going to monitor her dog closely.
