National Weather Service (NWS) forecasters say an Artic front began moving through the area today and an upper level low will drop down over the region tomorrow, Thursday. Northeasterly Fraser Valley winds will then return Thursday evening with gusts to 45mph possible.
As a result, high temperatures are expected to drop to the mid-40s and low temperatures just below or above freezing beginning Thursday and continuing through Monday. Temperatures this low, when mixed with moist air, create the possibility for snow. A half-inch of rainfall is expected Thursday and NWS forecasters say there is a chance of rain and snow showers Thursday evening, mainly before 11pm and at elevations above 200 feet. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
Environment Canada forecasters said today a wintery mix is possible Thursday afternoon and night with light snow accumulations possible for the Fraser Valley.
