A new tour business has begun in Ferndale that will take guests around to their choice of wineries, breweries and distilleries in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. The company, known as “Wheels and Wine,” is led by Elise King.
King says this was a perfect fit for her talents. She grew up in Ferndale and knows the county very well having driven several years for a local cab company. “I love to drive and to meet new people,” King told Discover Ferndale.
She saw an unfilled need for an affordable, stylish and comfortable way for small groups to head out and sample offerings at the many wineries, breweries and distilleries in Whatcom and Skagit Counties without worrying about driving.
King purchased what she referred to as a hybrid SUV/mini-van vehicle that will comfortably transport up to six guests. “It has incredible leg room. That was one of the main reasons I chose it,” King said.
Wheels and Wine is operating year-round and is currently marketed in hotels and tourist stops but locals are welcome to take advantage of the service as well. Wheels and Wine can be reached at (360) 224-1016.
