The National Weather Service has upgraded the Wind Advisory to a High Wind Warning for Thursday, November 12th. “High Wind Warnings” are issued when a hazardous high wind event is expected or is already occurring.
This warning is in effect from 10am Thursday to 4pm on Friday 10PM Thursday. According to the NWS
Winds will increase on Thursday morning… peaking during the afternoon. Very windy conditions are expected to continue all the way into Friday… but the strongest winds should be on Thursday afternoon.
Winds are expected to be from the south with gusts to 60 MPH (up from 50 MPH in previous forecasts). The strongest winds are expected by the San Juan Islands and near the shoreline in Whatcom County. While winds are expected to peak Thursday afternoon, the high winds are forecast to continue through Friday afternoon.
Be prepared for possible power outages resulting from wind damage.
