WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The Whatcom Humane Society (WHS) reported today, Monday, August 28th, that they received 5 more doodle breed dogs Sunday, August 27th, from “what appears to be a new ‘doodle dump’ site, near Aldergrove Road in Ferndale.”

Animal Control is also currently trying to contain reports of 3 additional dogs in this same vicinity and Good Samaritans found doodles last night in the same area and are holding them.

Last week, WHS received 9 doodles (link added) found on E. Hemmi Road, Kelly Road and Everson/Goshen Road. All of the dogs are extremely dirty, matted filthy, shy (some very shut down and lack even basic socialization) and need extensive care.

Someone must know something . . . we are hoping that the community can provide any information that will help us determine if they were abandoned, came from a breeder, hoarding situation, etc.

Anyone with any information can call and leave a message (confidential okay, we just want info) at 360-733-2080 ext 3026 or email: director@whatcomhumane.org. Whatcom Humane Society (August 27, 2023)

WHS added that the dogs are not available for adoption at this time but those wanting to help provide for their care, as well as the care of the other animals currently at the WHS domestic animal shelter, can make donations via the WHS website.
