According to a post on the local Cal Ripken Facebook page, the local youth boys baseball team, Whatcom Americans, has won the 2015 Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament.

One significant statistic worth noting, 4 of 5 games ended early due to enforcement of the “run rule” (game is called a win for a team if they lead by ten runs before the end of nine innings).

From the Facebook post:

Amazing display of baseball for the boys as they outscore opponents 57-7 in 5 games. A 12-0 semifinal win over Polson, Mt was followed up with a 11-0 win over West Linn, OR.  Great experience and memories for these boys and they will represent Whatcom County, Washington State, and the Pacific Northwest with pride!
