TRAFFIC ALERT: Striping on City roads and fog sealing on County roads scheduled

City of Ferndale staff advise to expect delays in the area of a rolling Whatcom County Public Works crew as they lay down road striping on City of Ferndale streets.

City of Ferndale Public Works Supervisor Bo Westford advises drivers the work will begin in southeast Ferndale beginning Friday and will continue toward northwest Ferndale streets through Saturday.

Also, beginning August 20th, County crews will be out on the following roads applying fog seal from 6am to 6pm through Thursday, August 23rd. This is a final step in chip seal road surface maintenance which was carried out earlier this summer. It is the application of a top layer of oil, referred to as fog seal.

County officials advise any vehicles parked along these roads or in the right‐of‐way should be moved before 6am on all days when fog sealing is scheduled.

Drivers are advised to use caution when driving in the area of the work crews, avoid driving on freshly painted stripes and to pay attention to traffic cones set out.
