A semi truck crash that occurred about 6:45am on northbound I-5 has been reported to be blocking both lanes of northbound I-5 and traffic would be diverted off I-5 at the Slater Road interchange.
Trooper Heather Axtman of the Washington State Patrol said 911 call-receivers had received numerous reports of an erratically-driven semi truck northbound on I-5 just prior to the crash.
The driver was transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation but the driver is expected to be charged with driving under the influence (DUI). No other vehicles were involved and the 53-foot trailer contained vegetables according to Axtman.
