A City of Ferndale project was scheduled to close Main Street for 12 hours up to 6am this morning. But, as of 7am, the road remains closed between 4th and 2nd Avenues. 3rd Avenue between Vista Drive and Alder Street is also closed.
12pm – Traffic has resumed flowing both directions on Main Street and on 3rd Avenue between Main Street and Vista Drive.
10:45am – City of Ferndale Capital Projects Manager Katy Radder says the crew is working on paving back the trench line now. Once that has been done and the asphalt has cooled, the road will be reopened. Radder’s estimate for reopening the road is approximately noon.
7:30am – Radder said not to expect any estimates on when the road will be reopened. The good news is workers appeared to be in the process of filling the trenches dug in the roadway.
