Traffic Alert: Birch Bay-Lynden Road road work planned over 3 weeks and a day

FERNDALE, Wash. — Whatcom County Public Works (WCPW) has scheduled work on Birch Bay-Lynden Road between N Enterprise Road and Rathbone Road on Mondays through Fridays beginning August 2nd and continuing through August 23rd.

Drivers can expect long delays through the work area as a result. WCPW advises drivers to take alternate routes during this work when possible.

WCPW crews will be performing the following work during this time.

  • August 2nd to 6th – Clear vegetation, remove curb, asphalt planning and crack seal
  • August 9th to 13rd – Road and driveway apron paving
  • August 16th to 20th – Grading, shoulder work and raise guardrail
  • August 23rd – Add rumble strips and striping
