Police look to return tools stolen from Blaine/Birch Bay addresses

BLAINE, Wash. — The Blaine Police Department (BPD) issued a statement about large quantity of stolen handheld tools recovered from a storage unit. While most have been returned to their owners, several remain unclaimed.

According to the statement, on April 23, 2026, BPD served a search warrant on a storage unit in Bellingham where a large quantity of stolen tools were recovered. Most of the tools have been returned to their rightful owners, but several have not.

Residents of the Blaine/Birch Bay areas who have had several Dewalt brand handheld tools stolen before April 23, 2026, are asked to email evidence@cityofblaine.com to claim them.

To make a claim, residents will need to provide the following.

  • descriptions of the stolen tools
  • serial numbers
  • other verification of ownership.

Items are not claimed within 60 days will be disposed of in accordance with BPD policy and Washington State law.
