As you were forewarned in late September, there are two upcoming projects with the potential to make it tough on drivers while underway.
According to city staff both projects are slated to begin next week, the week of October 12th.
Project One: Pavement Repairs and Crack Sealing
This moving project will repair road surfaces on Vista Drive, Thornton Street and Main Street. The current schedule (dependent upon weather and other factors) is:
- Week of 10/12 – Thornton Street from Della Drive east to Shannon Avenue and Vista Drive from Thornton Street south to the roundabout
- Week of 10/19 – seal portions of Main Street from 4th Avenue east to the WTA Park and Ride
- Week of 10/26 – repair portions of failing roadway on Main Street via grind/repaving
- Week of 11/3 – repair settled manhole lids/covers (east of the river) and restripe roadway where needed

Traffic will be flagged through areas where the crew is working as it makes its way along the planned routes. It is expected this work will be conducted Mondays through Fridays from 8am to 5pm.
Project Two: Malloy Sewer Project
Plan for Malloy Avenue to be closed at Thornton Street until the end of November. This means detouring around via Vista Drive and Aldergrove Road. If you live in the construction area, you will be able to get to and from your driveway. Just be sure to let the flaggers know and follow their directions.
This project involves replacing the aging 8-inch sewer main with a new 15-inch sewer main along Malloy Avenue from Thornton Street to Oxford Court as well as a section 200 feet east on Thornton Street from Malloy Avenue.
