Not everything that happens in and around Ferndale ends up in a story. “The Ticker” is where you can find those items, answer the question, “why am I hearing sirens?” and get early info on breaking news while the story is being written.
- 5pm Aid was called to Shannon Avenue for someone who had fallen from a tree and was unresponsive.
- 4:55pm A three-car collision was reported in the 1700 block of Main Street. All the vehicles involved had moved to the Shell station parking lot.
- 8am A protest of sorts was staged by about a dozen girls during “drop off” at Vista Middle School. Their goal was to be interviewed about disagreements with the school dress code. Given the students were on school property and without parents present to grant permission for photos, a Bellingham Herald reporter and accompanying photographer were asked to leave by a district administrator.
