Southbound Guide Meridian lanes blocked after injury crash

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — The southbound lanes of Guide Meridian (SR539) were blocked at the 10 Mile Road roundabout today as a result of a crash.

First responders were dispatched about 12:30pm today, August 25th, due to a report of a crash at the roundabout.

As of 12:45pm southbound traffic was being diverted via eastbound Ten Mile Road, alternating through the roundabout with northbound traffic.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Will Glahn said the only vehicle involved was a motorcycle. The driver and a juvenile passenger were both transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center, the driver with a possible head injury and the passenger with non-life-threatening injuries

As of 1pm, WSP troopers were continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

About 1:15pm, Washington State Department of Transported officials reported both southbound lanes had been reopened.
