The initial report was of smoke coming from a unit at the Ferndale Villa Apartments in the 2300 block of Main Street.
2:50pm – Firefighters are in the apartment. The smoke reported is no longer visible. The tenant was away at the time according to the apartment manager.
3:00pm The apartment has been blackened from the smoke according to a witness. According to a fire official the fire is out and Ferndale Police and the Fire Marshall are investigating. No other units were involved. The tenant will be relocated to another unit in the complex according to the manager.
