Update 7/16/20 6:50pm – The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office reported he had been captured and taken into custody in the Portland, Oregon area.
Officials with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) have advised the media they are actively looking for Joshua Klippenstein regarding his involvement in the assault of a child. His whereabouts are unknown but officials said they suspect he might be trying to flee the state and return to Alaska. He has been associated with a black 2003 BMW sedan.
Details were not immediately made available regarding the crime(s) Klippenstein is suspected of committing since the investigation remains ongoing according to WCSO officials.
