About 1:30pm today, January 25th, aid and law enforcement were dispatched to the 3500 block of Haxton Way for a rollover accident. According to initial dispatches the vehicle rolled multiple times and ended up on its roof off the road in the trees.
An aid unit reported to dispatch as they were arriving that law enforcement was performing CPR. Traffic was detoured at Kwina Road to the north and Boynton Road to the south while rescuers and investigators worked.
Update 5pm: Washington State Patrol reported that Corina Jones, age 22, was injured in the accident. According to the WSP report, Jones was southbound on Haxton Way at a high rate of speed and lost control, rolling several times and striking a tree. The 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse she was driving was a total loss. Jones was reported to not have been wearing her seatbelt and it remains unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
Update Tuesday: Jones died from her injuries Monday night.
