If you were out and about this morning, December 17th, around 9am when a warm moist front rolled across Ferndale bumping into the frigid air already in place, you probably saw a few snow flakes and/or hail mixed with rain. If you are out in the higher elevations around town (e.g. Church Road), you may still be seeing some snow falling.
No report of accumulations but a dusting has been reported from the Pacific Highlands neighborhood (see picture).
This story was written about an hour later and surprisingly the temperature was falling, not rising as would be expected.
