Today, January 15th, Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced repairs have been scheduled to start Tuesday on the Birch Bay-Lynden Road (BBL) overpass. There will be one lane of BBL open with alternating traffic until the project is completed in April. Drivers southbound on I-5 can expect occasional nighttime closures of all lanes.

Traffic delays could be expected to bring more traffic to Grandview Road, the next I-5 interchange to the south.

Repairs are needed after the bridge was damaged when an excavator being trailered southbound on I-5 struck the bridge damaging concrete and metal structural reinforcements last May.
