Phillips 66 and Renewable Energy Group have formed a partnership and announce plans for large-scale renewable diesel facility in Ferndale.

The facility will, according to company officials, make diesel fuel from waste fats, oils, greases, animal fats and cooking oil. The facility will be located adjacent to the Phillips 66 facility located at Lake Terrell and Unick Roads and will make use of the existing refinery tank storage, marine dock and rail and truck access.

According to a Phillips 66 press release, “The companies expect to make a final investment decision in 2019. If approved, production at the new facility is currently premised to start in 2021.”
