Public library’s summer reading program gets underway

FERNDALE, Wash. — Prizes await kids of all ages plus adults who participate in this summer’s Library Book BINGO program from June 1st to September 30th.

The Whatcom County Library System (WCLS), including the Ferndale Public Library, launched the summer Book BINGO program on June 1st. Participants get BINGO cards to inspire reading new titles and to keep track of what titles have been read or listened to.

There are BINGO cards for adults, teens, kids and preschoolers (click the links to download the cards). Bingo cards in Punjabi, Russian or Spanish are available to download and print by clicking here. Community members may also request cards be mailed by calling the Bellingham Public Library at (360) 778-7323 or WCLS at (360) 305-3600.

Every child and teen who sets and meets a personal reading goal will receive a book to keep. Adult participants may enter drawings to win fun reading-related prizes.

Special summer online events are also scheduled during the summer months providing engaging activities for children and teens including scavenger hunts, Zoom-based online gatherings and more.
