The Ferndale City Council meets tonight for a regular council meeting at 6pm. There are just a few items on the agenda.
Prior to the meeting, a 2017 budget “study session” will begin at 5pm. City staff will use this time to an understanding of the city’s financial administration and budgeting process.
Items on the regular meeting agenda are:
- Award contract to design a second deeper well at the Shop Well location for city water supply (on consent agenda)
- Interlocal agreement with Water Resources Inventory Area (WRIA) 1
- Lummi Nation, Nooksack Indian Tribe, Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, Whatcom County and the cities of Bellingham, Blaine, Everson, Ferndale, Lynden, Nooksack, and Sumas, and the PUD No. 1
- Recognition of Engineering Services Supervisor Art Longstreth
- Pioneer Park restroom restoration (between Tillicum House and Ferndale Senior Activity Center)
- Lighting, painting, roof repair, sinks, auto-off faucets, mirrors, trash receptacles, soap and towel dispensers (total $10,300)
- Adopt a new chapter to the Ferndale Municipal Code pertaining to policies pertaining to street vacation requests.
City Council meetings are held in the council chambers in the City Hall Annex at 5694 2nd Avenue. The public is invited to attend.
