Permits available online to harvest firewood free from the Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — Firewood harvesting permits on the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest are now available through a new online e-Permit system. With a firewood free use permit, you can harvest firewood free use from the Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in areas open for harvesting

The permits enable the holders to harvest firewood free from the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest

This online option allows users to obtain permits from a computer or mobile device at any time, without needing to make a trip to a Forest Service office.

Traditional firewood harvesting permits will continue to be available at local Forest Service offices in 2026. Forest Service offices are located in Sedro Woolley, Darrington, Verlot, Skykomish, North Bend and Enumclaw, Washington.

Firewood harvesting permits will remain free of charge.
