I support State Representative Luanne Van Werven because she has the experience to tackle the looming budget crisis and will protect our priorities without raising taxes. She is in tune with the issues and concerns of Whatcom County and tackles them with common sense and compassion. She puts the needs of her district first. I know that she cares deeply for the people she represents. I know that from personal experience.
Our family has lived in beautiful Whatcom County for 26 years. My husband is a hardworking Union Pipefitter and we have raised our now 21 year old son in this wonderful community. We met Luanne just as she began her first term as our District 42 Representative, when she participated at Meridian High School, in presenting our son a national and state award honoring his volunteer work. Since that time we continue to see Luanne tirelessly serving our community, schools and working families with a deep commitment to EVERYONE she represents. When our son invited Luanne to his Eagle Scout Court of Honor, she drove back from Olympia during session in a freezing Northeaster because she knew how important it was to him. We were also able to visit Luanne in Olympia and tour the Capitol. She always takes time to listen and respond. We need Luanne Van Werven to continue her hard work for us. She has my vote.
