Second Avenue Sports was reported to have been victimized by one or more persons who broke in and stole cash and products. In response, some neighbors decided they were going to help out the owner.

They have rallied together other neighbors to create a “cash mob.” A cash mob, like a flash mob, is intended to bring supporters together, cash in hand, to boost a store with a flurry of purchases.

The cash mob was announced as a Facebook event hosted by Ferndale Force Wrestling Club. In the event description the organizers point out, “Emily [the store owner] is a long time Ferndale resident and a graduate of FHS. She has invested a lot of time, energy and money to this town.”

There doesn’t appear to be a specific date or time for the cash mob according to the Facebook event. Rather, the dates August 31st through September 9th are given.
