Some Ferndale neighbors awoke this morning to find they were without electrical service according to Puget Sound Energy.
Two separate outages were reported to PSE this morning, one in the Custer area and the other in Ferndale.

The Ferndale outage impacted 11 PSE customers on Hawthorne Street (see map), began around 3:30am and was the result of an equipment failure according to PSE. Work crews are onsite and, as of 5:45am, the estimate for restoring power is 11:30am.
The Custer outage impacted 24 PSE customers north of Main Street and east of Portal Way (see map), began around 5:20am and was caused by a bird or animal according to PSE. Power was restored around 6:30am.
