Drivers got a break from roadwork on Main Street last week due to the wet weather forecast. While this week’s forecast is only slightly better, work is scheduled to resume beginning tomorrow, November 3rd on Main Street east of the Nooksack River bridge.

According to city staff, this is the plan for the week:

Tuesday – November 3rd (7:30am to 5pm)
On Main Street from the WTA Ferndale Station to Barrett Road and from the no-name intersection by Walgreens to I-5 – Crews will be grinding and repaving the road surface.

Wednesday – November 4th (7:30am to 5pm)
Main Street between the no-name intersection by Walgreens to I-5 – Crews will be grinding and repaving the road surface.

Thursday/Friday – November 5th & 6th (8am to 5pm)
LaBounty Drive at Main Street – Crews will be repairing vehicle detector loops damaged during recent grinding operations.

IMPORTANT
It is important to note that The City will be setting the traffic signal lights at LaBounty to change at fixed intervals instead of on demand (triggered by the presence of vehicles) from Tuesday to Friday. This is due to vehicle detector loops becoming temporarily disabled by the grinding done in preparation for paving.

The good news is Slater should be back to normal this week except for some final work happening off to the side of the roadway.
