‘Moderate’ air quality reported in the area

Air quality reported from the Northwest Clean Air Agency air monitoring station located on Loomis Trail Road entered the MODERATE range about 9am today (see graphic).

Neighbors in the Ferndale area awoke to a visible smoky haze this morning. Reports are smoke from southwestern Oregon that moved over the Pacific is now over Western Washington as it moves east.

Light winds are expected to continue from the south until shifting to westerly on Friday.

While air quality is in the MODERATE range, people with asthma, respiratory infection, diabetes, lung or heart disease, or have had a stroke are advised to limit outdoor activities or do activities that take less effort, such as walking instead of running.
