Missing Lynden man’s body recovered near Tennant Lake Park

FERNDALE, Wash. — Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office took to social media today to announce they had located a Lynden man missing in the area of Hovander Homestead and Tennant Lake Parks since November 16th.

When 37-year-old Timothy Elenbaas of Lynden was reported missing, WCSO deputies and Search and Rescue volunteers unsuccessfully searched the Tennant Lake Park area where Elenbaas’ car had been found according to WCSO. At the time it was reported he had a history of mental illness and believed to be in distress.

Detectives returned to the Tennant Lake Park area on December 1st with a drone to search areas inaccessible by foot. A body was located in the thick marsh. Summit to Sound Search and Rescue was contacted to recover the body which was confirmed to be Elenbaas’.
