Tucked back in north end of the Pacific Industrial Business Park is a new Mexican restaurant and dance venue. Don Samuel Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar is located at 5225 Industrial Place, the former location of Kick’n A.
According to business owner Manuel Reta, this is not his first venture into business as a restaurateur. While Reta has become known for his political endeavors, producing events celebrating Hispanic culture and helping with his wife’s business, Colima Design on Main Street, there was a time, many years ago he said, when Manuel ran Mexican restaurants in Whatcom County.

Drawing from this experience, Don Samuel Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar’s menu is unapologetically full of conventional Mexican restaurant faire including parillada, carne asada, chile verde, fajitas, tamales and so on. There are lunch specials including tortas, taco salads and 1-, 2- and 3-item combination plates offered from 11am to 3pm daily as well as breakfast offerings.
The restaurant area is open to all ages and there is a separate 21-and-over bar area. A stage and large dance floor will be the scene of future live music and dancing according to Manuel.
A grand opening has been scheduled for all day Saturday, January 5th with live music beginning at 6pm.
The restaurant is open at 11am Monday through Saturday but is closed on Sundays.
