Eva Moreno met former Kick’n A Saloon & Dance Hall Owner Jessie Anderson several years ago, they quickly became friends and could often be seen line dancing at the local grange hall.
In the years following, Anderson developed an idea for a dedicated line dancing venue which eventually evolved into what opened last year as Kick’n A Saloon & Dance Hall.
But things changed for Anderson and she found herself putting the business up for sale so she could help run her husband’s business and be a stay-at-home mom. After one failed attempt at turning the keys over to a new owner, Moreno approached Anderson and a deal was struck.
Moreno has added a few new services and features while shortening the business name to simply, “Kick’n A.”
Most noticeable for customers has been the new all-ages family atmosphere before 9pm. Kids are welcome before 9pm much like any other restaurant but it changes to a 21-years-old and older only venue after 9pm. A menu has been rolled out that includes burgers, French dip and pulled pork sandwiches, desserts, appetizers, salads and soups.
Line dancing classes will continue according to Moreno with beginning/novice on Tuesdays, intermediate and advanced on Wednesdays and an open class on Thursdays. All classes are at 7:30pm except the Wednesday advanced class which is scheduled for 6:30pm.
DJs and local country bands can be expected to perform on Friday and Saturday evenings and Kick’n A’s large dance floor remains a key attraction.
Moreno is hosting a grand opening Halloween party with Dakota Poorman Friday, October 27th starting at 8pm.
Kick’n A is located at 5225 Industrial Place and open Tuesdays through Sundays from 11am to 10pm but closed between 3pm and 6:30pm and remaining open until 2am Friday and Saturday evenings. Moreno said they are opening at 10am on Sunday’s during football season.
