Whatcom County Public Works reopened Marine Drive to traffic this morning, Wednesday, March 25, 2026. It had been closed to through traffic east of Lummi Shore Drive/Road since being closed March 18, 2026, due to water over the roadway from river flooding.
For the past 7 days, “Road Closed” gates have been across Marine Drive closing the road east of Lummi Shore Road/Drive to Ferndale Road during a recent Nooksack River flooding event.
Whatcom County Public Works reports Ferndale Road north of Marine is open with water over the roadway.
