MAPLE FALLS, Wash. — First responders were dispatched about 7:25pm on Saturday, October 3, 2026, due to reports of a crash.
According to a Washington State Patrol press memo, emergency responders were dispatched to northbound Kendall Road near milepost 2 and Cimarron Way at about 7:25pm.
A gray 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe was northbound and attempted to pass an uninvolved vehicle. The Tahoe left the roadway, struck a fence, and came to rest off the roadway on the east side of Kendall Road.
The driver, an 18-year-old Maple Falls man, was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained injuries. He was transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.
A 20-year-old Maple Falls man riding as a passenger was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained injuries, and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Two other passengers, a 20-year-old Bellingham woman and a 25-year-old Maple Falls man, were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.
According to the Washington State Patrol, drugs or alcohol were involved and the cause of the crash remains under investigation. The vehicle was totaled and impounded to the Washington State Patrol Bellingham bullpen.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, all northbound and southbound lanes of Kendall Road were blocked at Cimarron Way. All lanes were reported reopened by about midnight.
