FERNDALE, Wash. — A weather station near Grandview Road and I-5 reported wind gusts up to 50mph this evening, March 13th, and wind gusts up to 60mph are forecast overnight. Shortly after 10pm tonight, there were dozens of reports of localized power outages according to Puget Sound Energy. Eventually it was determined much of north Ferndale, including Custer and Birch Bay had been impacted.
PSE reported 3547 of their customers were impacted by the outage. As of 10:20pm, a estimate of 12:30am was estimated for restoring power.
First responders were dispatched to a report of wires down in the 7400 block of Kickerville Road about 10:20pm. It is unknown if that is related to the power outage.
