Thanks to a reader tip, it was learned a contingent of law enforcement personnel were on hand as a search warrant was served at a property on Imhof Road today.
While specific details are not expected to be released until tomorrow, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Chief Criminal Deputy Doug Chadwick said the warrant was served on “a large marijuana manufacturing operation” at 5249 Imhof Road. “This operation was not licensed with the state in accordance with the new marijuana laws for manufacturing and distribution,” Chadwick said.
The property has been the site of “Hal’s Pumpkin Patch” in past years.
According to one reader, the aroma of marijuana was easily detectable when driving past the house/barn.
