Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp users reported experiencing outages this morning, October 4th.
According to reports, the outage is global and began about 8:40am Pacific Time. All the services impacted are owned by Facebook, Inc.
As of 9:22am, Facebook officials posted to their twitter account, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
About 2:40pm, the services began becoming visibly restored making it a 6-hour outage.
