FERNDALE, Wash. — Workers are busy putting the final touches on Graveline Road in preparation for its expected reopening today, November 6th.

A Whatcom County Public Works official said that, as of yesterday, the road has been paved and striped but gravel was needed on the shoulders and delineators needed to be installed along the road edge. That work was expected to be completed by end of the day.

The road has been closed between W Smith Road and Sunset Avenue since December of 2017 when heavy rains caused Silver Creek, which passes through culverts under the road, to spill over the road and wash out the road shoulder and damaged the culverts.

Repairs included replacing 30-feet of pipe, backfilling and rebuilding the road.
