The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory this morning for 11am through Friday noon.
According to the advisory statement, winds will gradually increase starting late this morning, then continue through Friday morning. Northeasterly sustained winds of 20 to 35mph with gusts to 50mph are possible with the strongest winds expected tonight.
Elsewhere, one NWS forecaster says the actual system was not entirely living up to the model forecast. But even if it falls short, which the forecaster says is usually the case, it should still be strong enough to generate some advisory level winds. If the system lives up to the model forecast there could be some spots reaching high wind levels.
The current weather forecast for the Ferndale area also includes much cooler temperatures as an Artic system moves through the area over the next few days. Low temperatures are expect to hover around the freezing mark through Monday.
