Whatcom County Public Works announced Slater Road east of the Nooksack River bridge will be closed at 4pm. The closure is expected to continue through Friday.

Original Story
Whatcom County Public Works crews have placed “water over road” signs along with 5mph signs on Slater Road.

As the Nooksack River level rose to nearly 17 feet, water began covering Slater Road east of the Nooksack River bridge.

The river level is forecast to continue rising so the possibility of needing to eventually close Slater Road remains.
