Fireworks planned in Ferndale by professional pyrotechnics group

Members of the Northwest Pyrotechnics Association are planning to hold a Father’s Day shoot on Saturday, June 15th, from 4pm to 10pm demonstrating a variety of professional fireworks.

The fireworks shoot will be launched near Haxton Way and Lummi Shore Drive and can be seen and heard for miles around. The launch site is closed to the public during the shoot.

Another shoot is tentatively planned at the same location around Halloween according to the group.

Oh great, more booms to run from. Why can’t they just keep it to the 4th of July? No respect for animals or veterans. Ever think of a nice light display via drones?

My dog has to suffer through more scary booms that cause her to shake and try to run away from the noise. Not a fan.

Ditto the first two comments. This is ridiculous. The Lummi Tribe should be ashamed to allow this. Beside the effects on animals, pets, and people, this results in a lot of pollution. The plastic shells from the fireworks all end up in the Salish Sea. They are ingested by marine life and are a major source of trash on our and there beaches. Shame!
