FERNDALE, Wash. — Temporarily closed signs appeared at the Ferndale location of Walgreens, located at 1901 Main Street, this morning, June 5th, without explanation. Shoppers were directed to the next closest store in Bellingham.

Signs at the store’s front door and pharmacy drive-up said the closing was temporary but offered no estimate for reopening. The store was closed and those needing prescriptions are to visit their nearest alternative Walgreens.

Calls to the store went to voicemail and calls and email inquiries to Walgreens corporate media relations department were not immediately returned. The company website said the location would reopen as soon as possible.

UPDATE 2:20pm – The store has reopened for business. While closed a cleaning company vehicle could be seen outside along with shopping carts and carriers. No official explanation has been given for the closure.
