Ferndale man suspected of attempting sex with a minor, arrested

FERNDALE, Wash. — Charges have been filed in Whatcom County Superior Court against a 43-year-old Ferndale man suspected of arranging to have sex with a person he believed to be 16 years old.

Noone Danger Marshall of Ferndale was arrested on April 19th after responding to an online advertisement for sex. According to a probable cause affidavit filed in court by prosecutors, Marshall corresponded with an undercover agent who arranged a meeting at a Bellingham hotel. Marshall reportedly agreed and said he would bring marijuana. Marshall arrived at the door of the room in the hotel and was arrested. A search of his person discovered sex toys, condoms and marijuana along with enough cash to pay the agreed price.

During Marshall’s preliminary court appearance on April 22nd, prosecutors requested bail be set at $50,000 and the defense asked that he be released on his own recognizance. The court set bail at $5,000 bond or $500 cash. He was released from custody that day after cash bail was posted. He is scheduled to be arraigned on May 3rd.

Marshall’s arrest occurred during a joint undercover human trafficking enforcement operation with Homeland Security Investigations and the Whatcom County Sherrif’s Office (WCSO). The operation focused on recovering potential victims of sex trafficking and arresting subjects attempting to engage in commercial sex abuse of minors. According to the WCSO, 7 victims of human trafficking were rescued during the operation.
