FERNDALE, Wash. — Several Whatcom County Fire District 7 stations will be aglow in red light at 8pm on October 2nd to 9th as they participate in the national Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters event.
Every October, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation sponsors the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, the official national tribute to those firefighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year. They have been holding their “Light the Night” event since 2017 where fire stations across the country glow in respect of fallen firefighters and their families.
WCFD7 Fire Chief Larry Hoffman said they are honoring 2 line of duty deaths, Chief Clyde Eaton and Assistant Chief Dean Crosswhite.
